A bit gutted …

This is one of the sickest hands I encountered while playing online poker last evening. I must admit I was a bit steaming, hence the call of 300$ before the flop with the suited one-gapper. In normal conditions I’m a quite tight player, so I doubt I would have made the call otherwise. Was so happy when everbody went all-in and turned over their cards. In my head I was already taking down the pot, and my internal mood was switching

But two streets later I was near to depression
Fuck this game, I’m going fishing

Good news from Full Tilt!!

Hello folks,

Just read the news Pokerstars have finally acquired the assets of the former Full Tilt Poker.
What are the consequences for us (non-US players)? Simple: the funds we had in our Full Tilt accounts will be made back available to play or withdraw!
Let’s say that’s pretty awesome news 8)

The most interesting part coming from the Pokerstars press release:

Dublin – July 31, 2012 – Full Tilt Poker is very pleased to announce the conclusion of a three-way transaction with PokerStars and the United States Department of Justice which will result in all of FTP’s US players having the opportunity to be paid. The agreement ends the company’s civil forfeiture proceedings with the U.S. Department of Justice.

Under the terms of the agreement, PokerStars will pay a substantial amount of money to the United States, and the government has agreed that all U.S. players will have an opportunity to request that they be compensated out of those funds for their losses. In addition, within ninety days PokerStars will make available for immediate cash withdrawal or play, the account balances for all of Full Tilt Poker’s non-U.S. players.

Why can poker players be SO stupid?

Whether I’m playing at a small homegame or watching a big poker tournament on television, what keeps striking me is how dumb certain players act sometimes … Even the most experienced players can be complete fools by times. Nevertheless, it adds a lot of fun to our homegames

By the way, does this reflect the plays of a pro? :p

Belgian Poker Pros Don’t Do Sidebets Too Well

I mean, all I can make out of this is that one guy won a tournament which meant the other guy had to dress up as a chicken and run into the ocean. The hot tv presenter can’t even say “You are a man of your word” without making it obvious she’s not a genius and the guy in the suit is apparently a pro poker player that looks like he hasn’t had a meal in years.

I don’t get it. Belgium.
